Foundations of a Leadership Culture
If your job requires you to be able to gain commitment, accountability, and to attain high motivation, "Foundations of a Leadership Culture" (FLC) is for you The principles you learn (and practice) in this program will teach you the coaching skills essential to being a successful leader in all your interactions -with employees, peers, and team members. In essence, the coaching skills enable you to build leadership qualities in those around you, so you spend less time on "firefighting" and people issues and more time on strategic, high priority goals. This program provides information and practical experience that will prepare you to:
- Use the coaching skills of listening, powerful questions, accountability and acknowledgment
- Apply coaching skills throughout the day, in group meetings, in one-on-one conversations, or in brief encounters
- Create an environment that supports others in exploring their challenges and developing their own solutions
- Identify an individual's values and the roles that values play in motivation and personal development
- Distinguish between coaching, mentoring and counseling
- Know how and when to use the coaching roadmap to bring the person you are coaching to action and accountability
- Identify assumptions and interpretations and break the cycle of negative thinking
Developing Leaders
According to First, Break All The Rules published by the Gallup organization, managers have more influence on retention and performance than any other factor. This is based on data collected from over 105,000 employees in 2,500 companies. This program recognizes the contribution a manager can make to the bottom line by investing the time to really know each employee and actively support his or her growth and success. This program provides information and practical experience that will prepare you to:
- Use a development model that incorporates both performance improvement and leadership development for every employee
- Institute a yearlong performance management and leadership development process with each of your employees
- Conduct individual performance management meetings that are motivating and empowering
- Conduct a performance improvement meeting to address performance that is below expectations
Finding Common Ground
Conflict is a natural occurrence and can be a source of creativity. It can also be counter-productive. Knowing how to resolve conflicts and to negotiate effectively will improve morale and make teams more effective. This program provides information and practical experience that will prepare you to:
- Apply a roadmap to find common ground and create a solution that people will readily follow through and implement
- Identify and work with perspectives, yours and others
- Move out of conflict and into a productive dialogue
- Bring to the surface what is really important to another person and use that to develop a solution that serves all parties
Problem Solving
Participants will learn to apply foundational coaching skills like listening, powerful questions and the coaching roadmap, to structured problem solving and decision-making. They will learn processes that both foster collaboration and get the accountability and commitment needed to successfully implement the selected solution. This program provides information and practical experience that will prepare you to:
- Productively engage the whole team
- Balance expanding on ideas with converging on decisions
- Keep the team focused through the implementation phase
- Bring roadblocks to the surface and work through them
Leading Teams
Much of the work accomplished in business today occurs in teams. A group of people working well together can accomplish those goals difficult or impossible for a lone individual to match. Realizing the potential of a given team can be quite challenging. This program provides information and practical experience that will prepare you to:
- Organize and run a meeting using a proven structure
- Gauge the performance of an existing team with two assessment tools
- Adjust your leadership of a given team according to the team's stage of development
- Use a process map called the "Leader's Journey" to move a team through a difficult period
Priority Management
Business success depends on making wise choices on how we spend our time and resouces. This program provides information and practical experience that will prepare you to:
- Follow the Priority Management Roadmap that leads to clear decisions and well-defined actions
