Designing Programs To Fit Your Business
Commitment to Learning
Have you ever attended a workshop that contained good information, was enjoyable to attend, and included a well-written manual? But, once you returned to work and put that handsome binder on the shelf, the ideas slowing evaporated and you returned to business as usual?
Innerworks Solutions adds individual and small group coaching to all of our programs to give you the best chance to integrate the knowledge and skills you gain in the workshops. Participants start with individual coaching sessions, at their convenience via phone, the month prior to the workshop. These coaching sessions give them first hand experience on exactly what coaching is and how it works.
Following the program, participants engage in "small group" coaching, via phone. These coaching sessions have proven invaluable to participants in sharing real workplace experiences and deepening the understanding of they learn in the workshop.
Designing The Program To Meet Your Goals
- Step 1: Agree on the Outcomes
Innerworks Solutions recommends a program of individual coaching, workshops, and small group coaching, organized into a project plan based on the goals, measures and return-on-investment defined in the sales conversation. Please visit the Programs page to see the questions considered during the sales phase.
- Step 2: Customize the Content
All programs start with a two-day workshop to establish the core skills and concepts called "Foundations of a Leadership Culture". The first day concentrates on learning the skills. The second day emphasizes applying the skills in typical business situations. The examples are chosen to meet the specific requirements of each client, so that participants practice in situations they actually face on the job. Additional one-day modules are added to the design as needed to meet each client's goals.
- Step 3: Ensure Success
An Innerworks Solutions project manager directs all aspects of design and delivery and works closely with the client company's representative to be sure all goals and expectations are met or exceeded.
Program Example
A technical firm is concerned about its project managers' abilities to handle the communication and people issues associated with large projects. The project managers were promoted because of their technical knowledge and ability to track a large number of details. The project managers only give input to employee performance appraisals. The recommended program organizes the following elements over four months.
You can get more information about the workshops under Program Modules. As the program progresses, the project managers will be able to:
- Quickly address people issues as they arise
- Motivate project team members to be accountable and professional
- Resolve conflicts among different departments
- Develop a high performance team and keep it on track
The overall result is that the project team meets its deadlines and gets its product to market on time and maximizes the revenue available from that product.
